While technical/professional skills teach us what to do, soft skills tell us how to apply our technical skills in a social environment.

Career Training Centre (CTC) has developed Ready4Work, a work readiness program aimed at identifying and enhancing the soft skills and technical/professional skills of fresh college/university graduates in order to enhance their employability and gain a competitive edge in the highly competitive job market.

The focus of the Ready4Work program is to develop a wide variety of both technical and soft skills starting from communication, to working in different environments, developing emotional sensitivity, group skills, presentation skills, learning creative and critical thinking & decision making, developing awareness of how to work with and negotiate with people and to resolve stress and conflict in ourselves and others as well as vocational skills.

Ready4Work is tailored to meet the needs of job seekers and employers as well as provide training in the specific skills employers are seeking in their current and future employees to ensure that they hit the ground “ready to work”.

Programme Objective

The main objective is to provide adequate preparation for entry into the job market for the first time worker and is designed to improve employment potential of individuals by supporting a skilled and capable workforce to fill current and emerging jobs in priority areas.

The Ready4Work program targets freshly graduated holders of Certificate, Diploma and Degree qualifications from colleges and Universities and  brings together aspiring industry professionals/jobseekers and prospective employers.

Designed to prepare individuals for today’s job market, the program prepares entry level workers with the knowledge and confidence they need to start a new jobs.

Operating with a four-pronged approach; skills assessment, life-coaching, job training and job placement assistance, Ready4Work motivates and moves individuals to become productive, responsible and effective workers.

What Does Ready4Work Offer?

Based on the assessment and individual preferences, people will be able to access skills training, skills development and employment placement assistance and options from three streams of Ready4Work activity:

  • Skills Assessment: Comprehensive assessment of individuals to ascertain their skills and competencies and preparedness for the job market.
  • Skills Enhancement: includes skills courses designed for direct entry into a job, traineeship or apprenticeship; and employment programs developed with employers for jobseekers who have barriers to employment. Details about the skills training programs available at Skills4Life Training
  • Placement Assistance: Upon completion of skills assessment and skills enhancement levels, individuals are supported and assisted in the process of work placement

Program Duration

The program is scheduled to take duration of 5-15 days depending skills assessment carried out as well as identified skills gaps

Program Dates

The Ready4Work program is conducted twice monthly.
